How to find us
darmstadtium is conveniently located in the heart of the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main region with direct access to the A5 and A67 motorways. Frankfurt International Airport can be reached by car in 20 minutes and by rail or bus shuttle in about 30 minutes. Almost 40 runs a day to Terminal 1 and 2. Darmstadt’s central railway station is around five minutes from the congress centre and can be reached easily by both car and tram.
From June 1st 2019, two roads in Darmstadt will be closed to cars with diesel engines of a specific age and vehicles with gasoline.
The traffic restriction applies in the eastern part of Hügelstraße and Heinrichstraße between Heidelberstraße and Karlstraße.
Diesel vehicles with European Standards 1 to 5 are affected and vehicles with (gasoline) Euro norms 0 to 2.
In addition, buses and LKW with Euro norms I to V in the affected section of the Heinrichstraße are affected. The roads concerned are marked on the map.
We recommend that you travel sustainable with Deutsche Bahn.
Darmstadt’s central railway station ("Hauptbahnhof") can be reached with regional services as well as IC/ICE. Public transport from Darmstadt central station to the congress centre is direct and takes less than 10 minutes. The stops “Schloss” and “Luisenplatz” are immediately next to darmstadtium.

In addition to public transport and taxis, you can also use bicycles – or even e-bikes – to get around Darmstadt. You can rent e-bikes at darmstadtium itself, and there is a “Call a Bike” station for bicycles to the side of darmstadtium, next to the city wall.

The science city of Darmstadt has several direct connections to the A5 and A67 motorways.
The congress centre is located in the city centre, immediately beside the Residential Palace. Take the exit Darmstadt/Stadtmitte and follow the signs to darmstadtium.
The congress centre has its own underground car park with spaces for 454 cars (including disabled parking spaces). Furthermore, there are an additional 2000 parking spaces for visitors in other nearby underground car parks. Most of the additional parking options in the nearby underground car parks are linked to the conference centre’s underground car park. This applies
in particular to the car park of the neighbouring Welcome Hotel.

Please note that Darmstadt has a large environmental zone that can only be entered by vehicles with a green disc. darmstadtium is also located in this zone. Furthermore, there is strict ban on heavy traffic (3.5 t or more) passing through town as well as a ban on trucks driving between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. (with an exception for loading and unloading).

Electric charging station – fill up with power
Are you travelling with an electric car? Our underground car park offers you the option of charging your electric car for free during your event with green electricity from our cooperation partner ENTEGA.
Please note that you require an access card to use the charging station. You can obtain this from the info point in the atrium entrance foyer during the regular opening hours (Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.).
We will be happy to reserve the electric charging station for you for the duration of your event in the darmstadtium so that you can be sure that it will not be occupied.

Frankfurt International Airport is around 20 minutes away. It’s even faster to darmstadtium from the regional airport in Egelsbach.
Every half an hour, the “Airliner” shuttle service brings passengers from Frankfurt Airport (terminals 1 and 2) directly to Darmstadt "Kongresszentrum" (other stations: central railway station and Luisenplatz Darmstadt).
